We are five high school students from London, Ontario, united by loss, purpose, and the belief that no family should go through what ours did. When one of our own lost his aunt to pancreatic cancer, we knew we had to do something. Purple Hope is our answer.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest and most underfunded cancers in Canada. It took someone we loved. It has taken too many others. We refuse to stand by and do nothing.
As students in high school, we partnered with Wellspring Cancer Support London to launch Purple Hope — a fundraising campaign dedicated to pancreatic cancer research and support. Every dollar raised goes directly to Wellspring's programs and services.
We may be young, but we know that change starts somewhere. This is where ours starts.
88%
of pancreatic cancer patients do not survive past 5 years
#1
most lethal major cancer — the lowest survival rate of any common cancer
$1,000
our fundraising goal — every dollar goes directly to Wellspring Cancer Support London

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most devastating diagnoses a person can receive. Yet it remains one of the least talked about and least funded cancers in Canada. Here is why that needs to change.
11%
5-year survival rate — one of the lowest of any cancer
7,100+
Canadians diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year
80%
of cases are diagnosed at a late stage when treatment is least effective
#4
leading cause of cancer death in Canada despite relatively lower incidence
The pancreas is located deep within the abdomen, making tumours nearly impossible to detect early. There is currently no standard screening test for pancreatic cancer. Most patients have no symptoms until the cancer has already spread, which is why so many cases are caught too late for surgery or curative treatment.
Despite being the fourth leading cause of cancer death in Canada, pancreatic cancer receives a disproportionately small share of cancer research funding compared to cancers like breast or prostate cancer. This means fewer clinical trials, fewer treatment breakthroughs, and fewer options for patients and their families.
Every dollar raised through Purple Hope goes directly to Wellspring Cancer Support London, supporting pancreatic cancer patients and their families right here in our community. Your donation funds programs, resources, and care for those who need it most.
